Dr Asan Ali Golam Hassan is a Professor of Economics at Azman Hashim International Business School, University Technology of Malaysia. He regularly receives large-scale research grants, focusing on Economic Planning, Growth and Development, Macroeconomic indicators and policies, Regional Inequality, Income Inequality and Poverty, Demographic/spatial impact assessment, rural and urban, Rehabilitation/settlement and Indigenous Studies. Previously, Dr Asan Ali has served as Deputy Director for the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department (2008-2010) and GST Project Manager for the Ministry of Higher Education (2014-2015). He is also a member of the National Consumer Advisory Council for the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (2019-2023).
